Yeah, that's right, I said it! Hot tea and glass straws are my new thang. If you would've told me that one year ago I would've scoffed and said but there's plastic straws, and I don't even like tea! Turns out I am a new woman, and man oh man am I loving it.
Alright, so I am going to keep this short and sweet (for once), I promise.
Where can I get these straws? These glass straws are from the lovely company Glass Dharma. They are available on the glass dharma website right here, and you can save some coin with code 'greenbunnyvideo'
Why glass? Well, to keep it simple, plastic is convenient but ultimately ends up polluting our beautiful Earth. Most specifically, our landfills and oceans. Making small changes like glass straws, it not only a great investment because they are sustainable, but we are making better choices for our enviornment. Oh, and because everything tastes WAY better through a glass straw, that I can promise. PS- these come with a lifetime guarantee! So no excuses here, people. PPS- they are dishwasher safe, SCORE.
What are your favorites? Photographed here I have a few gems. To the far left we have the perfect straw for smoothies, it is the Simple Elegance 12mm x 9" which comes with a cleaning brush right here. Then in the middle we have my favorite for pairing with tea, the Lid Straw 8mm x 7" right over here. Finally, we have the most appealing to my eyes one, the Beautiful Bend 9.5 mm x 9" available here. Feel free to browse and choose whatever feels right, though (they also come in sets)!
In short, I am a total glass straw convert and I need MORE. I am also thinking this would make a great little Christmas gift to help people make the switch. Don't forget you can save 10% off with code "greenbunnyvideo" and shop right here.
Onto some inspiration on some drinks to have with our newly acquired glass straws. Say hi to the tea company that changed my mind about tea, Thao Tea Co. If you watch me over on Youtube (which by the way you can right here) then you are no stranger to good old guava ginger there on the bottom, my total favorite. I wanted to share a little more information on the line, as well as my stand outs from the line.
Thao Tea Company is all about quality of ingredients, great taste, all while advocating a healthy and happy lifestyle. How can we not get down with that? All teas are made with organic ingredients, and the owner herself, Thao is a total doll. This is a company I 100% stand behind, especially when their teas are just so damn good.
Going to get real for a second and say I have tried many teas, and none have even come CLOSE to Thao Tea. Something about the flavors just jive with me, while all other teas fell short. So what are my favorite blends? Well I am glad you asked. My top three have to be the Guava Ginger (White Tea with medium caffeine content), Pomegranate (Green Tea with medium caffeine content), and Cantaloupe Mint (Green Tea also with medium caffeine content). Brew a nice cup of this, add in a beautiful glass straw, and that is the kind of morning I am talking about. This, by the way, is a huge deal coming from an ex-coffee addict. I am talking a four cups a day kind of coffee drinker. Groundbreaking.
Before I wrap this tea party up, I would like to mention that all Thao Teas are loose leaf. When I got my first tea I was like oh god, WHAT DO I DO?! Luckily, we got options. Conveniently, Thao sells their own disposable tea bags which are fabulous for the on the go. They are unbleached and easy to use. What more could a gal want? 20% off applies to these too! Right here. I used up my 10 disposable bags which I received in my Organic Bunny Box (if you don't know what that is click here), and once I was done I decided to go a different route and try out these muslin tea bags. So far, so good, and they are cheap and cheerful on Amazon. Pick them up over here.
So that's a wrap everyone! I personally like to indulge in a cup of tea at least once a day, most specifically in the morning, but if I can sneak in 2 or 3 then I am stoked! If you want to have a virtual tea party with me you can get your straws here and save 10% with code "greenbunnyvideo", and you can get some tea for 20% off right "GREENBUNNY20" here. Have you tried Thao Tea? Let me know what your favorites are!
Until next time babes, XO!
